No musical or writing ability is necessary for this workshop but an open mind would be nice! Also, any old, dark feelings of jealousy you'd like to bring out through music would be cool.

In this club, we'll talk about jealousy, and songwriting theory, and we'll write and play a song together.

Jealousy is a powerful and very human emotion, it also makes for a great and relatable song inspiration. What makes a good jealousy song? What's a chorus? What's a hook? How can you write lyrics that capture the targets of your envy while portraying you as the likeable and relatable, yet flawed human that you are? What does it take to write a hard-hitting jealousy song? Is there some kind of basic formula? How do you come up with ideas? Words (lyrics)? And melodies? Let's find out together as Leon, our musician/therapist straps on his guitar and breaks down the songwriting process for you in simple and easy terms.
